See having a bag or pram does help over just the lead in that it gives the cat a safe space to hide and feel protected and concealed. My cat only wants out of the pram on the lead in the woods really, and if he gets spooked, he knows he has a safe spot to go to. plus theres loads of blankets for him to snuggle up under and hide. Cats feel fear when theyre out of their territory, so bringing a little bit of that territory out really helps. But i also feel like female cats are generally a bit more fearful than toms. We started on short walks in the backpack and worked our way up, it does take a bit of getting used to and building up their confidence, taking them to familiar places, etc.
