There’s some nice areas (Lindsayfield, Stewartfield, Brancumhall, Hairmyres to name a few) that have nice new build type houses so there’s something for all budgets. There’s two train stations in EK and plenty buses if needed. The trains are every 30 mins and take about 35 mins to get in to the city centre. Easy enough to travel places from it as well as it’s near the A726/M77. Nice country park and plenty shops and restaurants.

Alternatives nearby are Hamilton (which has some fancy housing estates at the back (Torheads, Brackenhill) near the green belt) and trains every 15 minutes, right next to M74 motorway and lots of nice parks and plenty shops and restaurants. Same goes for Ferniegair and Westcraigs.

House prices for all of the above are reasonable but they have been rising and there’s a noticeable jump from when I first bought a few years ago and seems to be on the rise across a lot of South Lanarkshire.

Happy for you to message me with any questions, I lived in EK for a year and currently in Hamilton. Have lived all around the central belt so might be able to help with other places, too.
