I've lived in Springfield Gardens for years, it's very quiet for the most part - as it's off the main road you don't get as much noise as you might expect, but there can be the odd problem with people parking quite far up onto the pavements.

It's not the hippest area for stuff like cafés and bars etc, but you're a very short walk from the Forge which has plenty of shops and a Cineworld (I've got plenty of use out of my unlimited card while I've been here) and Dennistoun is only about a twenty-five minute walk away if you do want a drink or a meal out somewhere a bit nicer.

The biggest downside is that if you rely on public transport, your best bet will be the bus - the closest trains are from Dalmarnock or Duke Street, so not quite on the doorstep. If you don't mind the bus you'll be very well served, with at least four frequent services along the Gallowgate that get you into town within twenty minutes or so.
