Comment | So I can comment on this a little.
There has long been whispers about St Mungos museum becoming something else as the cathedral isn’t really set up as a museum space due to it being a functioning cathedral. Theoretically a museum of Glasgow’s medieval history would be better situated there. However Historical Environment Scotland would probably want to do a done deal for Provands Lordship and St Mungos together.
It’s a shame as it’s one less place to visit for free. But equally, footfall at St Mungos is dire and Provands Lordship needs a lot of work that GCC can’t fund.
So it was unsurprising to see them on this list. The couper institute has been under threat before and is prime development land. |
