Car is definitely still king in most of Scotland. In this specific case Dargavel Village is actually quite sensibly located as there’s a train station right at the start of the estate, same for some parts of Newton, but agree that a lot of the others don’t cater too much to leaving your car at home. The one I live in right now isn’t great for public transport but that’s a trade off with the semi-ruralness, and my job catering to a car commute.
