In the....Kitchen?

I regret to inform you that Glasgow, Scotland, is not America in the 1950s. And it certainly wasn’t in the 1900s.

(Working Class) Glaswegian women had been labouring in the heavy industries since the Industrial revolution. Furthermore, there was a considerable Catholic (Irish) presence in Glasgow. There were little polish shops. There were Italians! Believe it or not.

There were people of many creeds and backgrounds.

I’d politely advise you to do a basic look into Scottish history before you comment in our subreddits. This is our space.
