`I didn't know even parks have them, wow.`

I picked maybe 2 kilo of just 1 species of mushrooms in Pollok Park last year, just to give you a vague example. I've also seen wild strawberry, elder trees (for flowers and berries), and blaeberry-plants in some of the parks though I haven't lived here during the right seasons to collect those (yet!)

Just walk around the parks, get off the trails and amoung the trees, and start looking for signs of edible plants. It gets easier over time as you start knowing what to look for, there's no magical shortcut other than reading, discussing, and maybe using an app (and double-check with a book) to identify plants. Keep in mind that some plants can literally kill you even if you just eat a small amount.
