Depends if you’ll be working in the town I suppose. All relative on what is a hard commute also - I used to commute to the west end of Edinburgh from the West End of Glasgow for a 8:30 start everyday.
You can walk to work in the city centre in around 30 mins from a lot of the west end. Finneston, Hillhead, Yorkhill, North Kelvinside etc
