For a while I've pondered if the UK needs a "cycling license". Obviously you can cycle perfectly legally without one, but in order to Dona car test you would have had to have classes and held this "cycling license" for two year before being allowed to take a car test.

Said cat test would be for a "low power" vehicle and, after a further two years, you.canntake a second test to advanced level in order to get an "unrestricted" car license.

Then you recertify every, what, 10 years? Retake the Highway Code test every 5?

It's all.moot what with self-drive g cars coming along in the next 20 years or so.
