I don't agree that's the problem. Makes it sound like the only reason there were problems is because you've let poor people congregate.

In reality, these areas suffered not because they were filled with social housing, but because the infrastructure was so poor. No places for leasure, no supermarkets, no green parks, and terrible transport links - which many couldn't afford to use. People were isolated, impoverished and bored. People get themselves in terrible situations in those conditions.

Integration into established areas and around decent private property is absolutely the best case scenario, but we shouldn't claim mass council housing complexes can't work. They just weren't done right, and if they were done properly they could be a valuable answer to the housing/homelessness crisis.
