| Comment | I always thought we were better part of the UK and Europe.
But the pandemic has made me realise how South England focused the UK government are.
Watching levels rise in North England and Wales last year a d they asked for finance support, extending furlough and they were refused.
But a month later when levels rise in the south, the kent varient, the rats scrambled to trains. When that happened the UK government took care of the South of England. Yes they rest of the UK got the financial furlough but only because the South had a need. The North, Scotland and Wales had already cut jobs due to an end date of support.
That was the day that I changed my view. Its a UK government who control finance to the devolved nation's but only respond to the south of England demands.
I am not usually influenced or concerned by political changes but the coronavirus showed me the UK government does not care about anyone north of Birmingham. |
