I use my Merida Espresso e-bike in the centre most days for my job. It's a good way to get around and cuts up the steepest of hills (Looking at you Strathcylde Uni) no bother. To get a half decent e-bike you need to pay at least a couple of grand though.

I had an e-scooter a few years back. I cheaped out and got one off Amazon for a few hundred. It lasted maybe a couple of months before it stopped working. I used to go out in all weather and suspect that some water damage occurred.
It was wayyy more fun than the ebike. I have some fond memories of cutting down Buchanan Street. That said, the battery never lasted that long and it was a bitch to retain a smooth, slow speed.

As far as I'm aware a good quality e-bike can be used in all weather. I use mine all year round. With e-scooters you're limited to dry weather. Light showers at the most.
