Nah I get what you’re saying totally. But the stuff I experience here is more harsh. “You’re not even Scottish” “you’ve never experienced hardship” etc are the kind of judgments I’ve received from people who think a Glasgow accent determines social status. Think what annoys me the most is I’m working class and people better off/higher social class than me play the pretend working class glasgow card when they’re from bearsden... not sure if explaining it well but just irritating and most my pals from elsewhere get the same and some have adjusted their accent to avoid questions/slaggings every day |
