A charity I'm involved with are doing virtual home checks for a bit longer before switching to the usual visits.

Basically get you to do a zoom call walking through your whole house and any garden areas to check for suitability.

If you think you're cut out for it, please consider fostering a dog. Many. "lockdown puppies" are being surrendered to rescue places as people go back to work. It's better for the dogs to stay in a home environment than kennels.

Sorry for your loss, we lost two in 18 months, it never gets easier. We fostered greyhounds for a bit, wasn't ready to own another dog but house felt empty. Adopting another felt wrong for a while for us, obviously everyone is different.

If you've got questions about fostering dogs, ask away.
