This might as well be world wide. You are focusing on it being Glasgow only because you are not from here. If I go to Edinburgh, new York, London, Paris I get non stop oooo your accent is strong I can't understand a thing you're saying ooo Glasgow has a big drug problem don't it (a genuine interaction over the phone...). Its not specific to the city, its just people.
