| Comment | I grew up in Cardonald but my mum is Northern Irish, as a child I had a strong Irish accent and was bullied a lot for it. It is not as strong any more but people often refuse to believe I have only ever lived in Glasgow because of my "twang". My partner is English and to be honest people have been horrible to her for her "posh" accent even though she grew up in a really deprived area and the people who mock her voice are rich Glaswegians. |
