| Comment | Honestly, I think the majority of the reason for holding people like animals at a slaughter house is the twisted idea that people here without gold-plated invites from the queen are worse than criminals. You've probably seen a fair bit of that on here today, if you've followed any of the threads discussing it - people chiming in regularly with "but there must be a reason", "what if they're rapists" etc.
I suspect the there is also some reasoning that treating these people like shit might 'encourage' them to withdraw their request for asylum, and go away, and might 'discourage' other 'illegal immigrants'. |
