| Comment | The magic number being cited by SAGE (although of course still dependent on ongoing evidence) is that once 80% of adults have received both doses then that should be the critical point at which transmission is suppressed by immunity and no further lockdowns will be required. This assumes of course that vaccines are effective against future variants, but data so far is pretty positive in this respect. |
