I’d agree with the start of your statement. It’s hard to engage in debate with people here as “Boris bad man, Sturgeon good” is the rock used to beat people with. It’s a mantra for people and if you try and debate it they just repeat the same line but louder until they drown you out and think they’ve won.

Most of my family are hardline SNP and the amount of misinformation they believe is a bit shocking at times. They tend to blame Boris for everything without fact checking or reading up. Hence NS gets away with so much as she just deflects down south and her fans lap it up.

I’m also a Celtic ST holder and on the forums our support bizarrely blame everything wrong with the club on the “Tories” weirdly. For instance we’ve not signed a new CB - the response is “what do you expect with Tories running the club!! 😡” it’s mental. It’s like an irrational response - rather than look closer at an issue it’s just deflect it down south.

I’m not a fan of Sturgeon (which I think is clear) mostly because I think she’s done fuck all for Scotland - her desire for independence is driven not by a love of Scotland, but of a hatred of the English and that’s why she’s failing the country. I feel she’ll run us in to the ground to force the break which isn’t the right way to go about things.

I disagree with the second sentiment of yours (with respect) - Boris initially had bad start to the pandemic but the later 2/3s have been lauded by European leaders as our vaccine rollout blew the EU nations out of the water.

Even the hardline SNP in my family have admitted as much to me.
