I suppose it depends how you deal with our weather. Some of my family from Singapore wear a jacket, hats and scarfs while I have a T shirt on in summer 16 degrees.

I suggest for autumn when you arrive you are going to be surprised how wet and cold it can be. Get a decent warm jacket for the dry days and a good waterproof (goretex) that you can wear a few layers under for rain.

It's rare in Glasgow to be really cold like - 5/-10. Winter is generally 1-5 degrees c. The rain and wind can be bad but again we don't have torrential downpours like tropical climates. It's can be constant rain some days and we have days of cloud cover.

Get a hat and gloves.

But, when the weather is bright and clear Scotland can look amazing! We are 30/40 minutes away from Loch Lomond or the coast. The people are friendly and you should look forward to out culture.

Welcome!
