| Comment | Our government has been completely inept in many ways, but Nicola Sturgeon's impressive presentation skills, coupled with the general defensive trauma of being ruled by English aristocrats for so long, means that many people in Scotland are incapable of admitting the incompetence of our government. So Nicola Sturgeon, in line with many politicians, simply shuts down sections of society because it looks like something decisive is being done, without any meaningful discussion of the knock-on effects doing this has.
There has also been a worrying amount of people who simply swallow whatever bullshit is spoon-fed at them, while they fully embrace the opportunity to appear morally virtuous and superior to anyone who happens to have a contrarian view.
There has also been a lack of personal responsibility on the part of people who, with over a year of evidence that shows being overweight and unhealthy is by far the most obvious risk factor, have done very little if anything to remove some of the contemptible amount of body fat they carry around with them. |
