Second what other people have said about being prepared for the weather to change frequently. Also advocate getting a jacket that stretches down past your waist. The wind means that rain is often coming at you horizontally and it's rubbish when the tops of your legs get soaked through, particularly when walking. For the same reason umbrellas are of some use in Summer but more likely to be a hindrance from Sept-May.
