Don't drink? opportunities to socialize just are not there the same way and the social attitude to anything outside the norm can be seen as a little weird.
If you don't like football, monroe bagging or drinking (have to say I love drinking and raving so isn't an issue for me!) its a bit 'wacky'. Its nice to see things like wild swimming are becoming more popular. Other places I lived no one gave a shit what your hobbies were. Lego? Rollerblading? Gaming that wasn't FIFA? DnD? Salsa? Lifedrawing? All good. In London, Edinburgh, Brizzy etc you can find a community to do basically whatever you want.
I also find in Glasgow it is really hard to make friends with people if you don't already know them by going to school or uni with them. |
