Aw mate really sorry. I moved here from a foreign city and have loved it because the areas I've lived have always been fairly community minded and friendly even when they weren't even the best bits of town (unlike where I came from which is wildly unfriendly).
I think you've moved into a dud street I'm afraid. There are some pockets of town even one street over from posh areas that are rough as hell. It just comes from experience. You can now say you've lived in a shitehole and chalk it up to experience. Time to look for a new place. There are tonnes of lovely and still affordable places you can move to.
