| Comment | AFAIK, the home office haven't released any information as to why they were being detained. However, there are currently no deportations to India because of the variant covid strain there and detaining people indefinitely (as we don't know when deportations will be restarted), in immigration centres could be viewed as imprisonment without trial, which is illegal under international human rights law. |
