| Comment | Your point about friend groups is exactly right. Generally, Scottish people stay close to where they are from. Far more Scots live at home during uni than English people do. I think maybe five people from my school year moved away from home, me included?
Its very hard to integrate and make friends if you don't have that solid circle from school. In a more multicultural city like Edinburgh where people come from all over, it can be easier. Glasgow is not an easy city to relocate to - people are very friendly, but also have established friend groups. |
