Glasgow isn't that big a city TBH. You can also move just outside the city and get some good places to rent. Bishopbriggs is a nice area and is that close you could walk to the city centre in a nice day so long as you have a decent fitness level. You can get a place there ranging from a 1 bedroom flat to a large fancy sandstone house. Down my way Craigton is a nice little area, it has good access to the city centre and Paisley, there is local parks with both Pollock park and Bellahouston Park there.
