I thought this may have been the answer as the flat does have an en-suite that was installed recently-ish, but after an intensive macerator sound investigation on youtube I don’t think this is it - my sound is very distinctly like wood being sawed. I also don’t think the sound duration is the same each time but will start paying more attention
