| Comment | Practice is grand but I feel like I've already reached the level I'll get to that way. I've done English speaking schooling from high school until finishing my second postgrad degree, and lived in the British Isles for several years. It's fifteen years since I first started speaking more English than my native language. So while I'm not trying to soften a Glaswegian accent, it's basically the same issue - I already speak English in a specific way and would need serious training to change it. Having chats in the pub is unlikely to change it. |
