If we had focused on vaccinating younger age groups in Glasgow over people in their 40s and 50s in rural areas we could have a more even spread of vaccination levels across the country.

Anyone with the most basic grasp of maths could have told you this months ago, and many were.

The question is whether we're targeting *cases* or *deaths*. Targeting the over-50s first made sense for reducing *deaths* with the caveat that a big surge in cases was then inevitable once schools went back and restrictions eased.
