This is undeniably true, but I wouldn't imagine it coming anytime soon!
The NHS has proved it can rejig things to have extra ward space for patients, but the critical issue is staffing. In the big waves, plenty of staff were redeployed, cutting other hospital services (sometimes stuff like cancer treatment!)

What is needed is a concerted effort to improve staffing, for example a good pay rise and commitment to staffing numbers/training/not obscene amounts of stress in your job, but aye it's hard to do overnight (or even get the support for it)
