| Comment | I done it a wee while ago with a hotel in perth when much of the central belt was tier 4 and perth wasn’t. We were virtually the only people there. I had a brief heart attack when they asked me to confirm the postcode on the booking, but all she said was ‘did you have a nice drive up?’.
My point is, people stopped caring some time ago and hard up hospitality venues are by and large glad to have the business. It’d be bad customer service to start questioning guests on their home address anyway, plenty of reasons your billing address would be different from your current residence that aren’t worth a hotel receptionist on close to the minimum wage getting into.
