I think it's just that Reddit attracts people with niche interests, who maybe didn't feel accepted when they were young, and who then made the "popular football kids" into a strawman for the problems with society at large that they've ended up holding onto into adult life.
No doubt there's issues with some football fans (George Square, Fence throwers etc) but the problems overstated when you look at the numbers of how many people actually watch, play or follow the game Vs the number causing disruption. |
