I'm a member at the Arly, also a serious swimmer - don't bother with it just now. Usually you get a lane to yourself for the duration which is why I joined - I do 2k every morning. Just now due to Covid regs it's rotational swimming only, and as the majority of the members are 50yrs+, heads-out-the-water, social swimmers, unless having to overtake three grannies every 21m length sounds like your idea of fun, it's a nightmare. If you can go in the last hour every night you might be okay though, it's dead then.

I would also say Scotstoun if it wasn't closed - it's about the only other pool in the West End you can get a decent swim in. Someone else said North Woodside but I used to swim there, again it's like granny soup most mornings and they all come and swim in the 'fast' lane regardless, also I got kinda sick of the changing rooms always being covered in piss and nobody clearing it up, the place is rank. Looks like Tollcross is probably your only option tbh.

Alternatively you could get the train to Milngavie and cycle three miles (uphill) to Dumbrock Loch, which is magic for a swim. Weather looks good at the weekend anyway :)
