Sucks eh? The Covid regs make no allowances for people who swim at different speeds, or even just with their head *in* the water. I suggested a fast lane/slow lane, I suggested a lane swimmers' hour, all met with a reaction as if I'd suggested licking doorknobs. I think the past year has been a real playground for the kind of folk who enjoy enforcing arbitrary and pointless rules for the sake of it. My mind is still blown by the fact that they have continued with the pretence than somehow squeezing twelve people in the pool in two lanes is somehow more socially-distanced than having seven people in the pool...

I am also a non-driver and highly envious of those who could just scoot off to a loch instead. It's a three hour round trip to Dumbrock for me (not including the swimming). Balloch is alright on the train btw - but again, 45 mins travel and then about 20 mins walk through the park until you get to a suitable swimming spot.
