The Ordnance Survey maps are available on Bing Maps. Paths are represented with dotted lines. Look for a dotted line that starts near a railway station or bus stop, follow it and see if it leads to somewhere you might want to go. Don't camp by roads or in view of houses. Try and find a breezy spot so you're not trapped in your tent by an angry swarm of midges. If you're an absolute beginner, the top of Conic Hill is a shout - just not at the weekend or it'll be like camping in the middle of Sauchiehall Street. Good luck :)
