So let's take maths as an example. Say they want to only take the top 5% of students for that course, previously they knew only 5% of students would get AAAAB. But once the grades are inflated, suddenly 10% of students get AAAAA. Now the university has no way of working out who is actually fit for the course and who isn't. |
