| Comment | Elaine did all of our animal behaviour and training lectures at uni and she’s a fantastic behaviourist. Very down to earth and straight talking in my experience, I loved her. I think you can self-refer to her, or you can contact your vet for them to refer you. Her fees may also be covered by your pet insurance if you have it, it’s worth checking.
If you don’t go for Elaine, anyone accredited by the APBC (Association of Pet Behaviour Councillors) is a good shout - it’s as close to getting a ‘license’ to practice pet behaviour as you can get, you get what you pay for, and you can trust their advice. There will be very knowledgable dog trainers who would be able to help you too, but finding a reputable one who actually really knows their stuff is tricky because there is no regulation at all, so often it’s better to go straight for the experts. |
