I know, the person above, probably pretending to be an economist to be seen as the more knowledgable one, lists all possible causes but of course there is no migration on the list but there is a "subtle" pun into the previous person calling out racism for saying that the migration has an effect...

I am an immigrant, I see how many other migrants buy houses here or applying for council flats.

I am very grateful the I can live and work here. I am happy to pay taxes and contribute to the society but don't pretend that letting hundreds of thousand of people in the country will not affect the economy. People like that person want to be very noble but refuse to accept the fact that their nobility has a price that they will have to paid indirectly in some form at some point.

People generally became especially warlike when somebody mentions refugees... Yes mate, nobody expects a refugee from Sudan to come to Glasgow and buy a 700k house in Jordanhill but maybe their kids in 20-30 years will? I would definitely wished them that rather than relying on council housing but either way this will affect the property prices in the area. You can't eat an apple and have an apple.

I believe that immigration has generally a positive effect to the economy but there are aspects to it that are not beneficial and property prices is one of those.
