I remember about 10 years ago when there were roadworks, they implemented fixed lanes and average speed from cardonald to the kingston bridge. Everyone thought it would be a nightmare but it actually worked like a dream especially during rush hour.

Who would have thought that going at a sensible consistant speed and being in the right lane can actually keep traffic moving.
