where are you from in scotland exactly?that is one of the strangest things i ever read in my life
people in places like pollok used to take heroin when they were 10 years old,it was horrendous for drugs and nobody batted an eyelid never mind being appalled
we don't have catholic or protestant areas in glasgow so it was never about that here at all we just didn't like anybody not from our bit
glasgow was much much worse than the surrounding areas though,they had gangs etc but it wasn't anywhere near the same as the schemes in the actual city
in my area basically it was mobile phones and the internet that changed things mostly,before they came about you would never have any interaction with people outside your scheme other than at school
within a few years all the wee guys from the surrounding areas were now hanging about pollok with the wee guys from here
i'm pretty sure without phones and the internet then people would have stuck to their own scheme just as their mums and dads and wider family had done for the 40 years previously |
