Had them in my flat too - particularly the kitchen floor (thanks to my incredibly messy eater cat rest her wee soul) tea tree definitely helped keep them at bay - I think they are super common in tenement flats because my neighbours had them too. Nothing to worry about - if you do get frustrated at the amount and the tea tree doesn’t keep them far enough at bay, I used Indorex spray around the flat after the rat dog got fleas - the pros of having pets and forgetting swimming affects their flea treatments (!) and it kept EVERYTHING at bay for a good year or so
