Comment | To be honest, a lot of people just group any Irish music thats vaguely patriotic or political as rebel music. Christy Moore might sing political songs (Viva la quinte brigada) or songs which tell stories of their oppression (Fields of Athenrye, Back home in Derry) but he’s hardly a balaclava wearing provo.
Wolfe Tones, Eire Og, Charlie and the Bhoys are the ones to be avoiding if you want to avoid upset. People who are offended by the Dubliners, Luke Kelly or even Christy Moore are more than likely just going to be offended by anything they perceive as Irish/Catholic. |
