Pull it down and put up some building with the shittiest coloured bricks they can find. IMHO if they plan to pull it down and rebuild it I would prefer it if they made it a new place with cafes, restaurant, pubs, etc etc, Shawlands is a good place to go out if you want away from the hassle of the town centre.
