I'm a student, an international one at that, and I was in a position to offer 6 months upfront. I also put down a deposit as soon as I stepped out from viewing it. You really just need to keep looking and hope for the best. You can also try posting on neighborhood Facebook groups to see if anyone knows of anything coming up.
