The sub has had a few issues over the years with certain users (probably all u/chocolateweazel and their many alts) who posted every single Glasgow news story from Glasgow live, evening times, daily record, etc. As a result a rule was brought in banning news spam, only significant events are allowed now. Which can sometimes be a bit subjective.
A news story about some attention seekers getting charged for a breach for having swearing in their shop window doesn't seem significant to me, although granted there might have been some debate around it given the swearing was "fuck the police" and obviously it would be the police someone would call if they were upset their kid saw the bag and had questions.
