In Edinburgh, you get a green bin into which *all* dry recycleables go, a grey bin for landfill, a brown bin for garden waste, a box for bottles, and a food bin. The council regularly leaflet people to make clear when collections are and what each bin is for etc.
Compare and contrast GCC, where tenement recycling is byzantine, no food bin, etc. How many people can honestly say they've never fucked a bottle or a can into the general waste to avoid having to schlep it to a community bin? |
