Low level train from Glasgow to 'Balloch'. This is the station for Loch lomond. You can then just enjoy it, go for a walk boat trip or even a full on climb.
Train to Edinburgh, you have to see the castle and capital before you go... But its a very different city to Glasgow. Take your pick but we all know its Glasgow you really love.
