I'm going argue this one. There are bits of the city and some cultures that can be hostile to incomers or immigrants (but being English can be as big an issue as being POC), but I'd argue that it's no worse than any UK city, or maybe even any Canadian city. There's brilliant organisations like Refuweegee who actively welcome immigrants with hello letters from glaswegians.

But I'll agree to the ten day isolation comment. We're a city, we have lots of people. We're managing covid pretty well, but there's still outbreaks. In the last week there seems to have been quite a lot of cases pop up from the last week of the school term. Be smart, and isolate properly.

I live in pollokshields, which has the double status of being the most ethnically diverse neighbourhood in Scotland, and recently the highest rate of covid (no connection, just a coincidence). Covid rates have settled. It's a bloody brilliant area, I love living here. Easy transport to the city centre and west end, lots of parks, lots of independent shops nearby, leafy and green.

But that said, Glasgow is know as the 'dear, green place' (dear as in affection, rather than cost), so there's lots of very lovely areas. Welcome to our city!
