This is such a rich statement. Allowing people to voice these disgusting opinions maintains the status quo that we can discriminate against other groups, which *explicitly* leads to us failing to be egalitarian.
Besides, people are still allowed to voice these disgusting opinions, they just get in trouble for it. You pose it as "the government" is deciding what can and can't be said, but we as a country vote in our representatives, who then decide what constitues hate speech. This isn't exactly out of our hands.
And it's **hate crimes**. It's literally actions based on bigoted beliefs that actively harm other groups of people. Fuck every last one of them. |
